Come Have A SEAT - It's Been a While

It's been a while. Have A Seat...I have some words that are better captured here and not just on Facebook. 
This is legacy. My beliefs will not end.

Some people get so used to entertaining the enemy so much they don't know when they're being deceived. Let's go through a few things together. This is not about one movie called Sinners. This is about the difference between living as peculiar people and like the world. 

Are you set apart or do you blend in?

Worship involves not just our physical action but our spirit also. Those who worship Him must worship in SPIRIT and truth. Romans 8:14 The spirit our spirit should stay connected to...of course, it's the Holy Spirit, no other spirits. Other spirits can also be referred to as demons, demonic spirits, evil spirits.

We will receive the Holy Spirit after baptism and it lives in us. We not only receive the gift of the spirit Acts 2:38 but should also be filled with a spirit of Christ. Romans 8:9 The Holy Spirit is a helper and intercedes for us when we pray to God. Romans 8:26 He also helps bring to our remembrance things God has revealed/said. John 14:26

I Cor. 6:19 Your body doesn't even belong to you anyway. It's the temple of the Holy Spirit. I Cor. 3:16-17 You are literally a sacred temple of God, not here for your own wordly pleasure.

When we entertain demonic, or "unclean" spirits, they are looking for places to inhabit...seeking to devour/influence our spirit which should be guided by the Holy Spirit. Once we give way or allow room or "permission" for it to enter we see in the word that it brought more evil spirits with it and it dwells there. "So also will it be with this evil generation." Matt. 12:43-45 No verse reference included, but evil spirits can push people to commit to go "crazy" or want to (censored) X themselves.

Even in Acts 19:13-16, we see a Jewish exorcist try to use the power of Jesus name against a demonic spirits and the evil spirit overpowered. He didn't have the power Jesus had to do that. 

We wrestle constantly with powers over darkness and against spiritual forces of evil. So we need the whole armor of God to fight and be victorious. Eph. 6:10-12

The FULL Armor of God is protection; it includes the "breastplate of righteousness" and "helmet of salvation". An actual helmet protects our head but in the spirit it protects our mind. Eph. 6:13-18 The whole/full armor helps us defend against the enemy when he attacks. If we have laid down any part of the armor we are then vulnerable because  we are no longer FULLY protected. Of course we also have to fight to with the sword (word of God) &pray to gain strength. 

I'm focusing on the fact that sometimes we lie down our armor to go have fun and be entertained. When you lie down any piece you become weaker and vulnerable to spiritual attacks. Verse 18 also reminds us to be on guard and alert. We don't have time to take off armor or trade righteousness for entertainment. Not only do we we not know when we'll be under heavy attack spiritually we also don't know when Jesus is coming back. Mark 13:32-37

Don't go to "sleep" on the enemy.

Your mind, your eyes, your ears, your whole body was designed for God to use, to be a conduit of the Holy Spirit, and it must be protected from evil spirits & the work of the enemy.

Reason #100,001 why I homeschool

I was at one of the suburban middle school. It looks nice and orderly, resources look ample. Kids were quiet during the fire drill. That was all good until later during a class change. Today my homeschool coop poetry class was reminded of Black History & Women's Histpry month. They were instructed to choose an AA woman poet and pick one of her quotes. Next they were to write a poem that spoke about what the quote meant to them. I gave choices: Maya Angelou, Phyllis Wheatley, Nikki Giovanni, Toni Morrison, and Sonia Sanchez. I later mentioned that if they know a poet in real life they can choose someone else. So the youngest girl chose me, "Beautiful Thought". She proudly told another girl, "I chose her," with a smile. I'm sure I felt as honored as she felt proud. This is the same student who made various head wraps for her Barbie dolls that look like her brother's friend's mom (me). The same student who discontinued her other class this semester so she could join my poetry group. It's Time To Break The Cycle

Being a "helicopter parent" is the same as micro managing a spouse or employee. In children, it causes learned helplessness; in personal relationships it causes decreased self-esteem and a break in trust. We don't trust others, and we don't trust God, enough to give up some control. Ultimately, it really is about one's own insecurities and has nothing at all to do with the other person. Usually, that same person then criticizes the child for acting helpless or the spouse/ employee for not being proactive and/or assertive. It is a cycle that is quite dysfunctional and becomes embedded in the psyche of our children...  they never feel "good enough" and often need extra validation. This validation sometimes comes in negative forms too. BREAK the cycle,  no matter what side of the circle you're on. God's love & peace to you ~Beautiful Thought
